[English below] Het heeft een jaartje of 5 geduurd, maar het kwam er dan toch eindelijk van: schaatsen op matuurijs! Het gevoel dat het wel eens de laatste keer kon zijn samen met mijn familie gaf het nog wat extra.

We have been waiting for this occasion for several years now: Ice-skating! Together with my family we enjoyed what might be the last skating day this decade…

Ik ben oom! Voor de eerste keer… Het is helemaal geweldig om een nichtje te hebben! Vader, moeder en kind maken het goed.

After a 5 months long challenge, the Japanese have defeated me after all. Resistance is futile. PS: here we are training for a trip through a cave, and apparently there are small holes to crawl trough…

Na een vijf maanden durende strijd heb ik het uiteindelijk opgegeven. De Japanners hebben me verslagen en het is tijd om af te druipen. PS: hier zijn we aan het oefenen voor een tocht door een grot, waarbij we kennelijk kleine gaatjes tegen gaan komen…

[English version below] Daar is ie dan: het einde van mijn avontuur in Japan. Een prachtige tijd, vol met leerzame belevenissen en speciale mensen. Tijd om uit te puffen en bij te praten. MAAR niet voordat ik mijn tanden zet in het meest gemiste eten ooit: [TM] Een Bruine Boterham Met Kaas (c) !

De vlucht was prima en het afscheid op Kansai Airport goed. Als je ziet wie je allemaal uit aan het zwaaien zijn, weet je dat het een goede tijd was. Ik zou iedereen graag weer eens zien… Tot ziens!

The end has come to a wondurful time in Japan, loaded with special moments and gorgeous people.  Time to get a long awaited rest and meet people I care about so much. BUT not before I have tasted the unique taste of [TM] Old Gouda Cheese On Broun Bread! (c)

Green Day – Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)

45 minutes from the hectic of the crazy Osaka city center is the wonderful city of Kobe. The perfect environment for the birthday celebration of one of the loveliest  Japanese stewardesses  oh, receptionists in town: Keikoo!

Kobe has a long history of western influence. The people here seem to know more about the Duchies than I do… Anyway, one of the very wealthy Dutch blokes who has lived here getting rich with overseas trading seemed to have left his fortune as a gift to the ancient University of Leiden. Thanks to him, my brother is now enjoying a good medicine education.

So there we were, in a real house, wearing not-so-real traditional Dutch clothes. From left to right / up to down: Romsil, me, Chicka and Keikoo. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Its time for me to leave japan… I am nearly as fast with as this lady… And I don’t want to be on the national television!
